If either of them had been killed then they would have become martyrs. Even if Bin Laden is dead, we probably wouldn't know about it. Sure it would be a massive coup for our armies, but it could signal widespread terror attacks and even more hate for the West.

It was obvious Saddam couldn't really care any more, as he showed absolutely no resistance and wasn't exactly hidden that well.

Bin Laden, meanwhile, hasn't even been sighted for almost a year. He's either dead or just too well hidden, which he'll likely be for the rest of his life.
