Ever since Broomavic took over at Chelsea, the predictable has happened. Chelsea's fanbase increases geometrically, as does the Stamford Bridge wage bill, players flow in as the cash flows out etc etc.

Everyone expected that. It was also a given that old has-been Chelsea players would crawl out of the woodwork and start proclaiming glory for the new era. Well, nice one you bunch of idiots, I needed you to tell me that spending £100 million on players would up the chances of a club getting silverware.

However, the latest headline on BBC Sport is "Nevin backs Chelsea glory". Fair enough, another old has-been having his two-cents, but the statement below the headline reads: "Exclusive: Former Chelsea star Pat Nevin tells BBC Sport the Stamford Bridge revival is "the real deal." "

Excuse me? The real deal? Are you sick? Chelsea are a joke. The fantasy football team of the premiership. They're only where they are because of the fanciful investment of a random billionaire. There's nothing real about them at all.

I'm happy to admit that Chelsea have a good chance this season. I'm happy to say they have a strong squad, capable of beating anyone on the day, but please don't expect me to believe that there is anything "real" about them. I still believe that their sugar-daddy is bad for the overall game.

Bloody fogies. Why can't they just sit at home smoking their pipes. Why do they have to jump up and down like loons to get their face in the papers and tell me things I'm already aware of? And why does this particular Nevin chap not have a clue?

I'd go play there at a click of a finger!

Turn down $1,000,000 a month?! never!

Rivaldo has pretty much done it all, although he would probably still want to win a EC in a team which he was actually part of. It was quite amusing when somone from Milan said somthing like

"we thank Rivaldo for his contribution towards us winning the champions league"

They do have a league, and it's a relatively good one. Well, a couple of the teams are good. But only because European players go to play there when they've finsihed playing in the top flight.

One of the teams has Batistuta, Effenberg, Caniggia, Numan, Aldiar and a couple of other players that make a respectable, if old, team.

Still, muh :-D

I would presume the reason he turned down that offer was not because of the money but more to do with the fact he'd have to go Qatar, which is hardly the footballing metropolis of the world.
A player like him wants to play and wants to play at a high standard, not some 5th rate part timers in the Qatar league (if they even have one)

Yeah course. Had yo udone your homework and wathced the programme "chelski" on channel 5, you would have seen that the man you call "abramawhatshisface was perfectly legit.

Chelsea wouldn't go to jail anyway. We'd just not have any more money to spend on needless players.

The only place Chelski are going is jail. We all know that Abrawhatsisface is a criminal, and he will get locked up, you will lose all your money, and have to sell all your 'superstars'.

Well, if FIFA's ``Suck-'n'-Splutter´´ [Sepp Blatter] has his way over the whole Rio Ferdinand thing; who knows...!

But I don't understand how he can deduct points from us in the Champions' League when we'll already be playing in the Quarter-Finals by the time he's made his descision, anyway.... Unless he REALLY, wants to disrupt the entire comepetition, of course!
