Thanks for the most dull conference ever, Nintendo.

"I talked to Nintendo and their strategy is to try to ensure that all the big games that are made for 360 and PS3 are also made for Revolution. If they succeed at that, they're going to do very well." from some market analyst dude on GameSpot. http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/05/20/news_6126354.html

Hopefully this will shut up some people's "Nintendo don't want 3rd Party support!!!" whining.

Revolution Pokémon Online.. fap.

Though it could be because I really don't have the money for two consoles, it just seems sensible to see what the Revolution is before I decide I'll have to pre-order another.

But haven't you got to pay to play some games on Xbox Live?

And there's that whole Xbox Live Arcade escapade, where you've got to pay a few quid to download 'classic' games.

They'll screw you in other ways rather than Live service, believe me. Most probably by putting all online maps or whatever as download content or something equally stupid.

It's the game crazes Nintendo create that make the money.

The online capabilities just ensure that the latest Pokémon, lastest Mario Kart, etc are going to provide something new that the fans want. Therefore, likely to attract more gamers, therefore more sales.

It's worked for Microsoft and Xbox Live, and they're now making that free for 360.

Yeah as long as they make profit why bother leaving console business?

If Nintendo did thou, they would continue creating games on other consoles surly, so id still be happy ;)

If it majorly screws up Nintendo will try again.

Or Nintendo will wirelessly link handhelds to the TV.

But if the Revolution loses them too much money, they might consider pulling out of the home console market. What's the point of remaining if all you're gonna do is lose money?

But they would need to majorly screw up for that to happen, and I'm pretty sure it won't.

Except Nintendo's online service is cheaper to do now than 5 years ago..

Whilst Nintendo also have their gameboy and major franchises.

And Nintendo have such a large fanbase.

And Nintendo have their profitable investments.

Well if Nintendo's online service isn't profitable they'll find themselves losing money fast, just like Sega did. Having more money just delays the demise. Although I'm not saying that will happen.
