Thanks for the most dull conference ever, Nintendo.

The race levels themselves lacked a lot, too - the old adventuring on the Mario Kart series (tryuing to find shortcuts etc.) was gone, and there were so few alternate routes you could take.

Gutting.

It's still a mint game, I can't deny that. Just a bit dissappointing.

Ah, well that's your own taste so I can't argue.

And I rarely race against mates - prefer the old head to head, multiplayer battle.

No I can't you're right, it's not very good. But calling the whole game's multiplayer absymal I don't agree with. Racing against mates is a great laugh.

Ok, I think you're missing my point. And as I didn't get chance to respond directly last night I'll do it now before work (so sorry to everyone else if it disrupts the normal flow of the thread).

I don't think being 'wowed' by the Microsoft conference is admitting defeat on the Nintendo front. Nintendo themselves have previously admitted that they're not going to get first place and aren't competing against Microsoft and Sony (though have contradicted that many times). I just see it purely as being wowed by Microsoft.

Late? Assuming you're responding to my message as quoted above, I didn't actually mention a 'late' release for Nintendo. I just said that Microsoft are releasing their system symultaneously around the three largest gaming nations.

I agree there.

Microsoft are promising free online.

Inclusive or between? If the entire N64 back catalogue is downloadable, then Microsoft may have a bit of a problem with Conker being playable. However, I wouldn't be suprised if there is a charge for these games (which although is reasonable, if too high, I wont be bothering unless I find a game I really wanted to play years ago)

I never mentioned PS3 and due to my enjoyment of Xbox, chances were I was going to get a 360 anyway. Doesn't mean I'm not getting Nintendo's next gen console.

Anyway, wasn't it you who decided that because Nintendo haven't wowed you, you weren't getting a DS?

Funilly enough they still haven't used the clipart of the Revolution on Amazon yet; still has the purple PSone on it.

The only unique feature at this time is the ability to download old games from the net; but if they're limited to Nintendo only, then it won't be that good. Would have been nice to see Goldeneye, PD again, but licenses permitting it's unlikely.

I spent many a time on those battle stages on the SNES version.

Fond memories...

My main method of Mario Kart multiplayer was the frankly amazing Balloon battle modes. You can't say that the DOuble Dash battle stages were exactly amazing, can you?
