The original 5 were great, but really, it's gone down hill from there. Notability isn't a standard any more, it's a leaderboard. All these new notables are bringing the side down.
Maybe if you voted for people who are actually notable and not treat it like the popularity contest that it has turned in to?

No really, popularity is very different. Plenty of people on here have been more popular than the big 5 and never become notable. Notability should be about good writing and moderate intelligence, not who you like the most. They are called notable because you should sit up and listen to what they have to say for christ's sake!
