Out school spent somwhere in the region of £15,000 on security to prevent intruders from gaining access to our school yet this idiot has managed it. The man is described as being in his mid twenties with multiple facial piercings.
How novel.
£15,000 on security when all you really need is a really BIG magnet at the school entrance, and BAM!
Problem solved…
> It's still not nice having a pierced chap roaming the grounds.
Meh, wait 'til you get to University, that's practically a normal sight...
It's still not nice having a pierced chap roaming the grounds.
> They're only kids...
Like the one that stabbed and killed, sorry, "allegedly" stabbed and killed another in a playground fight earlier this week ?
*Looks shifty*

And he knows the school how ? Because she told him.
If kids could learn a little common sense I am sure crime statistics and such would take a little plunge.
> Because it often is??????!!!!!!!!!????
You mean like that girl who met up with the US Marine, when she had told him she was 18 instead of her real age ?
I'm not saying they aren't often the ones, simply that assumptions can be a little short sighted unless the facts are known.
The only way to secure a school is to either reduce points of access - a bad idea for a school in case you need to evacuate, plus it hampers the kids leaving at the end of the day - or turn the place into a fortress and end up with a school resembling a prison.
ID cards are a waste of time because kids will forget them, lose them and so on, and they're easily faked if someone is determined enough.
Security guards are pretty pointless because in most cases they're glorified caretakers who spend most of their time dealing with the kids because they'd be useless against anyone else.
