My sixth form is still part of the regular high school and on the same premises etc etc so basically we walk around and use the same rooms as the school kids. Anyway in our form time we were told that a suspicious man has been wandering around the premises asking for a certain unnamed girl who he alledgedly met on an internet chatroom.

Out school spent somwhere in the region of £15,000 on security to prevent intruders from gaining access to our school yet this idiot has managed it. The man is described as being in his mid twenties with multiple facial piercings.

How novel.

Pff.

£15,000 on security when all you really need is a really BIG magnet at the school entrance, and BAM!

I agree with you Belldandy, it is often the girls fault for lying and the blokes take the fall for it as if they were meant to psychicly know that the girl was lying. 9 out of 10 female are lying anyway and its their own stupid fault. GRR! Lol.

He was 14. I think it's a bit more advanced than that; I'm 15, so I probably know more about this sort of thing than you do.

If kids could learn a little common sense I am sure crime statistics and such would take a little plunge.

Well that's the only difference, you get to be interrupted by pesky kids half your height (first year). That and in general resources are more spread out I think?

I'm not saying they aren't often the ones, simply that assumptions can be a little short sighted unless the facts are known.

The only way to secure a school is to either reduce points of access - a bad idea for a school in case you need to evacuate, plus it hampers the kids leaving at the end of the day - or turn the place into a fortress and end up with a school resembling a prison.

ID cards are a waste of time because kids will forget them, lose them and so on, and they're easily faked if someone is determined enough.

Security guards are pretty pointless because in most cases they're glorified caretakers who spend most of their time dealing with the kids because they'd be useless against anyone else.
