Im talking about great people here everybody, not the tweenies cos there furry or anything like that...

Mine would me

Nelson Mandela - His beliefs and how he stood up for them
Muhammad Ali (Cassius Clay) - He wasn't afraid to be himself
Che Guevara - He was an inspiring revolutionary
Tony Hawk - Hes got guts and is all about youth and risk

All these men are/were GREAT in many peoples opinions.

They stand for what I stand for.

I respect them.

No one ever found out who he was, nothing is known of him and nobody has ever claimed to be him - which is why you don't know either :)

Sons of Heaven by Terrence Cheng is a kind of history book/story to do with him, I've got it but, as with many things, not looked at it yet.

Agreed. Being a 'second rate Grix' truely was a compliment.

I can't say I idolise anyone, or could even pick out a few people worthy of special mention.

I wouldn't say I idolise anyone, that conjures up images of Westlife posters to me, but here are a few that I hold in esteem.

Science: Sir Isaac Newton. Discovered gravity, invented integration and differentiation. Has influenced so much in the way of scientific discovery.

Literature: Robert Ludlum. Seriously. His books were never particularly big and clever, but the entertained me for hours on end.

Music: Steve Vai. The best guitarist ever. Can play any style and make you feel any emotion.

Technology: Alexander Graham Bell. Invented the phone.

Cinematography: The Wachowski brothers, Joel Silver and the cast of the Matrix. They created a fantastic movie that is one of my all time favourites.

Sport: Pele. Probably the greatest footballer who ever lived. A joy to watch.

Politics: Aneurin Bevan. Founder of the NHS, which despite its many flaws and failings is still an impressive organisation, that benefits millions.

Military: Field Marshal Viscount Montgomery and Sun Tzu. Fantastic military commanders and strategists.

If I was to stop and think for a bit longer perhaps I would replace some of these people. There are many others who I would likely add.

Also a special mention to Algy, the best wingman ever, to Grix Thraves and Black Glove for their wonderful bizarreness.

Curses. Well, if there was a group called The Black Panters, then they would rule.
Semi-naked reactionaries in skimpy man-pants fighting "the man", man.

That kid that stood in front of the tanks at Tianman Square - no idea who he is or what happened to him but that guy made me realise 1 person can do something.

Ghandi - For showing that non-violent civil disobediance can change the world.

Bill Hicks - for being angry, intelligent, funny and making me laugh even 9 years after his death.

Charles Bukowski - For making poetry not gay.
