I'd say Rimmer, or possibly The Black Knight from Monty Python & The Holy Grail.

"You're wrong"
"No I'm not"
"You missed the point completely"
"I'm invincible!"
"You're a moron"
"The Black Clancy never gives in!!!"
"Oh shut up"

Reminds me of a lot of people at times. Like Joey from Friends ("It's a moo point. Like a cow's opinion. Just doesn't matter"), or some of the things Homer Simpson says. The way he says something that's completely inaccurate but doesn't question that it might be so.

I'd say he reminds me of Rimmer.
Uptight, priggish, desperately wanting to appear intelligent but failing, trying to be "one of the gang" but always an uncomfortable silence after a joke, the embarassed shuffling of feet and awkward pauses.

A lonely figure of fun that, no matter how hard he tries, is destined to be mocked and pointed at.

Bwah ha ha ha haaa! Yeah, me too...

Hey Bell, is it slander to point out that you were Halo Fan, despite the fact that you keep denying it? Answers on a tear-and-snot stained postcard please.

Heh. Rimmer...a good analogy!

To me though, he's more like Otto from A Fish Called Wanda; a self important frigwad who thinks that because he reads books by Neitsche, it must mean he's intelligent.

Why not join in the fun at home? Tell us which contemtibly stupid character in fiction or in life Bell most reminds you of. The one that is the most 'potentially slanderous' wins a small prize (the prize being that you get to see Bell spamming the board in a humour-free way).
