Do you ever wonder why nightmares are there, how they got there, or why is it there. Tell me your view of nightmares and what is your favorite one. If not just tell me what you had for breakfast today.

I had a nightmare where I was in my garden, and being attacked from above by gigantic globs of Linda McCartney's toothpaste. I had to keep leaping out of the way, but I was running out of space as the toothpaste was everywhere. Very strange.

I also had a nightmare that transvestites were invading our holiday apartment... my pal hid behind the door and cut one in half with a katana.

Deja Vu is, for the most part, just our brains catching up to themselves. I read something about it a whil back which said something along the line of that it's a false feeling you get when your brain gets momentarily confused. Generally, you haven't "been here before" in that sense.

As for symbolism in dreams, there is very little scientific basis for the interpretations. Our dreams doubtless mean something, as they occur during the brains "defragmentation" cycle, and hence deals with real life memories and experiences. However, if you read two different books on dream interpretation, you will find that they vary greatly on how to interpret any individual thing.

And they are there for God knows what reason. Just like dreams though, depends on your imagination I think. Involving something that has happened that day/in the past, what you've watched, what you've thought/talked about. They are based on real life probably, just adds a little extra spice when your imagination gets involved!

Nightmares are just a side-effect of the complicated activity your brain undergoes during REM sleep.

Same with any type of dream. So next time you dream of a ragged clothed knifeman hunting you down on a straight road, and find that you can't run any faster than 10cms per second, remember: it's just a dream.

My nightmares involve Michael Myers, vicious dogs, critters, shapes, water and morphing family members.

They suck.
