I'm 36 years old. I still hate getting up in the mornings as much as I did when I was 16 years old.

Is there a cure? Or is this normal?

It's just too hard.

Sometimes it's too cold, just can't get out of bed.
Sometimes I sleep through all my alarms, or turn them off and go back to bed before I've woken up enough to know what I'm doing.

Luckily there's eff all in way of late night tv any more, otherwise I'd be screwed.

I just miss the days when I use to go to bed at 3am and wake up at 1 or 2pm.

I used to be good at getting up. I'm not bad, still, but in the past I never used to mind at all. The past few years I've come round to the objective world view that mornings of working days are some form of punishment.

I think that the last time you slept, you slumped forward and hit your head on the Caps Lock key.

I used to love getting up early when I was 16 years old and catching my dad before he left for work.

"morning dad"
"morning, you're up early"
"yes, just wanted to say bye before you leave. Oh, by the way, have you got any spare change for a bag of crisps"

* dad rummages around in pockets for change and comes up with a couple of quid *

"here take it all"
"thanks dad"

Now I'm older I just don't have the same incentive.

A friend of mine used to set her stereo to play McAlmont and Butler at 7am, forcing her to either get up or cut her ears off.
