Me and my family are mild rare breed enthusiasts. I now have over 20 chickens with one being an ancient 8 years old.
We have chicks we have reared ourselves.I helped to make a structure to protect them from vermin.
I have such breeds as:

Buff Orpington
Aracuana
Leghorn
Australorp
Yokahama
Pekin
Warren *
Light Sussex *

* = Not rare breeds as such

Anyone who keeps chickens will know of/keep these breeds.

Chickens are cool.Not many people appreciate what rearing chickens is like or how they become pets,I did not expect people to understand why,but hey

If your chickens knew you eat their kind, I don't think they'd be much pleased.
And what exactly is the purpose in rearing chickens?
You seem to have an affection for chickens, and yet you settle down and eat chicken with exotic sauces. It doesn't make sense really.
