Thats what I mean though... you can buy a PC with current console specs... and keep yje machine (without updating) for the same length of time as you would a console...
The down side is that in a couple of years time you wont be able to use the highest game settings... but you will consistantly have the same graphical quality as the current consoles crop...
To explain what I mean... you could have brought a (then) current spec PC at the time the Playstation was rleeased... which would still play most games... unfrotunatly those specs would'nt be able to take advantsage of 1200x1600 res with 130fps... ut you will still get the same performance that you would from the equivelent Playstation game...
Nelson: HAHA
Which thinking about it... if they can sell a system of this spec for 650 today... and stilll make a profit... means they should be able to sell the X-Box for at the most 299... probably 250... in a years time when it gets released?
As for the Gamecube, I have every faith in Nintendo to pull off a stunner, but by the time it comes out you might be able to afford it anyway!
Just wait. Don't buy it right now, unless you've just seriously lacking in games to play. With you DC around, I don't see that that's a problem. Me, personally, I may eventually buy one, but definitely not right now. I've got a PC to tide me over till the prices go down, new games are out, and/or the Gamecube convinces me to spend my money the Nintendo way. No matter what, in the end, I'm saving money and getting access to things I WANT, not things I expect to want one day.

STICK WITH YOUR DC.
Blah blah blah
