Like on this forum people moan over stupid little things, like a crap topic or rubbish grammer.
But on the forum that my dad uses (me too), he was asking if any one had bought anything from a company called Dreamvision UK, and were he could find it.
The reason being that i bought an MP3 player of Ebay from that company for £100 and it broke after 4 weeks, i didn't drop it or anything.
One of the moderators and his wife replied to my dad saying that they know that address, it is only 4 miles from their home, and that they will go down there and see what the company is like.
After going down there on Friday, they said it was an old council flat and looked abandoned.
One of the other moderators (My dad and all the other people mentioned are moderators) said that he would like to help, as it is horrible to get £100 out of a 15 year old. So he has come up with an idea, he said that he is going to order 20 of the guys speakers that he is selling and he is going to ask if he can come and pick them up from his house.
When he arrives at the guys place to pick up the speakers he is going to question him about the MP3 player and ask why he has not replied to 2 letters, more then 5 emails and 2 phone calls. (Obviously he is not really buying the speakers) If the guy says that he does not want the guy comming to his house then he is gunna say no deal.
These people have only known my dad for about 3-4 years now, never met him, but they are doing all this just to help out and be nice. You would never find that on this forum.
Not only that, but lots of people on the forum have said that they would like to donate a couple of quid towards my loss, they even got a partition thing going, i think they got to something like £50, but me and my dad both said no. There really is no need for them to pay for something some one else has done.
Just helping us by going round to their flat was enough.
I wonder what will happen when the guy gets to the flat and asks about the MP3 player and why he has ignored us. And that he doesnt actually want the speakers.
Heh heh heh.
> 1. Its a company as i said, dreamvision UK.
It's a name actually, on eBay it doesn't matter if you buy from someone like me who sells oddments or someone with a warehouse full of gear, it's a private transaction and as such goods are sold "as is", i.e. like on a car boot. The seller must provide the item he/she sold, and it must be in the condition he/she sold it, anything more and you ain't covered.
> 2. They just gave us a fake address.
If I remember rightly, the guy offered to replace it if you sent it back, which you didn't. He can legally move address since then.
> 3. His rating was excellent, sold something like 400 items, all
> positive feed back. Nothing bad.
Probably before you bought from him.
To be honest, as someone who uses eBay myself, I wish buyers would take time to actually read what they are doing and know the position they are in rather than just assuming things for themselves.
However, whilst you claim your dad has done all this work finding them, you'll be happy to know that the guy is back on eBay under a new username - possibly - and that a contact number is on www.dreamvisionuk.com
http://cgi2.ebay.co.uk/aw-cgi/ eBayISAPI.dll?StoreFeedback&id=104910189
Take a look at that profile, and anyone whose been on eBay should see a problem, and I'll bet he did it on his previous account. Make small value purchases to boost a feedback rating before selling goods yourself.
>His rating was excellent, sold something like 400 items, all positive feed back. Nothing bad.
I read about this a while ago, some bloke sold really cheap things and got a really good rating and then he went and sold an expensive thing and the buyer never received anything.

2. They just gave us a fake address.

Does a Gamecube qualify as electrical stuff then?
*bought last sunday but recieved yesterday*
I only buy things off highly rated sellers though.
Unfortunately Robin, and as eBay themselves constantly point out, buying from eBay sellers is not the same as buying from a genuine store, you can't do s*s**t to this guy because you're covered by nothing, just going round to his place is pretty useless as he can just deny s**t's him, ask you to leave, and if you don't he can get the cops round.
Anyone ws**th half a brain would never buy electrical stuff from eBay in the first place, but failing that they'd contact the manufacturer of the MP3 player for a repair....guess that's too simple huh ?
Like on ciao.
those damn commies.
Real address, real phone number. The phone number is almost the same as the one on the website, just the lst 2 numbers changed round.
Just waiting to see if the guy and lass who went round his house befor lives near his real address. this is getting good.
