OK OK, so this may well seem a bias topic, but I can assure that after Sega had announced their giving upness of console making I am now 100% without bias (Come on Microsoft!!), but I just think it's a sad time for Playstation 2 owners - they have hardly anything to get excited about at the moment, and although there will be Metal Gear Solid 2 and Gran Turismo 3 - there really needs to be something that is proud of a title woithout a number - so GT3 looks amazing, and MGS2 plays amazingly - it's been done before.

Please don't get me wrong - I feel that PS2 owners deserve a lot better - after all they support Sony by buying Playstations, so they should expect something decent on the Playstation 2. It seems as though Sony has bettered Sega - they've managed to turn themselves into a messed up Games Company after many years of success, whereas Sega are set to make money again, but have given up on the Dreamcast.

It's a shame because I want Playstation and PS2 owners to join me online in a quest on Phantasy Star Online, I want to battle it out on Daytona USA against Nintendo owners who have never really had that much in the way of decent racing games (Mario Kart is a different genre...), and I want to play Quake 3 and Unreal tournament against PC owners, but if sega have given up then it doesn't leave me with any hope that the developers and publishers for the Dreamcast will continue to make games for the format. Shame.

Tekken tag Tournament should have been better - PS2 games shouldn't need to be classed as 'step 1 games' or 'wave 1' games, as they all should have been as good from the start - maybe they'll get better, but there are 2 brand new machines on the way and I feel that they'll bring at least 2 quality launch titles...

I've been playing Phantasy Star Online recently - I haven't even gone online yet, as the offline game is so incredibly addictive! I was blown away by Sonic team's graphical prowess; the player create system is just ingenious - limitless number of characters! Anyway, it's made a slight impact on the charts - check it out if you dare. 10/10 classic, so beware...

I'm now looking forward to the highly anticipated Csequel to one of the freshest games of last year, which even now brings a smile to my face. Yep, Crazy Taxi 2 is about to hit the streets and I can't wait! I'm not advertising for Sega here, or anyone else - I don't care if a console is being produced or not because it doesn't matter, the games are what count and if I'm happy with originality then that's great for me - I'm sure many of you are too. I don't care about DVD features, I have a DVD player, I don't care about 'surfing the net' I have access to my brother's PC (as mine was unespectedly attacked by some hacker of somesort), but it's fantastic to play games online with real people - it's all part of the adrenalin rush that you get, and not seeing who you're beating adds to the fun..

Alas, my rabblings come to an end as I endevour on a journey to watch Jurassic Park on DVD.

Please play me at PSO tonight around 11 - I am D1A1!

Ok thanks,

Oh goodness! :(

Everyone is winning game-a-day, and I have tried really hard, how do you do it? I have a PS2 and I desperately need some games (problem is, I'm short on money as well). So in a desperate attempt to end my depression I'm going to write a story on the MGS2 trailer I saw:

TRAILER OF MGS2.

Oh the happiness and delight I felt as I tore open the packaging of the PSM2 magazine, leting the DVD plastered with 'Star Wars: StarFighter' fall gently into my hands. This is it. I love Star Wars, and it was a real treat to be seeing a special "The Making" documentery on what looks like the best game on the PS2. I put it in, closed the tray, and eagerly anticipated the menu screen. Behold! There is was near the bottom, the Star Wars Starfighter preview. Drooling, I scrolled down to the bottom and pressed X.

Ten minutes later I was a very happy boy, because I now know how good the game was going to be. Smugly, I checked out the rest of the disk... what's this? Surely it can't be the trailer I've been hearing so much of... could it? Best take a peak.

My heart skipped a beat as I saw something like "Konami Presents" flash on the screen, reilising what it was! It's the beginning! The beginning of the most anticipated game in history! There was a fantastic feeling inside me that felt like two butterflies having a light-your-fart competition as I saw a farmilliar face in a raincoat strolling to the classy sound of a woman singing. (This combination has to be experienced to be appreciated fully.) Suddenly I had a huge adrenaline rush as the man activated a cloaking device and heroically broke into a sprint. Surely everybody knows it is the Solid Snake, don't they? I hope so.

(I won't spoil the rest, - I'll just give you an idea of the atmoshere) Oh how impressively the rain flickered past snake as he jumped off the bridge, the dark night acting as the perfect cover for his considered-suicide mission. But we all know what happens to the good guy don't we? I was left astounded and physically shocked as the trailer ended with the words: "2001: Year of the Snake!" and I grinned, knowing that Konami would not dare postphone it to 2002, not now.

That's when I reilised the best things in life aren't free, their on the front of magazines.

As WM pointed out in a very fine post, the demo alone was amazing, so I really hope the game arrives by June. However, I think its good that it was delayed, because that way it is even better on release, and also we are given more time to enjoy ZOE and Star Wars Starfighter etc...

No no, if it were a PS2 game then I'd keep it and get a PS2 somehow, but there's the small matter of price, and when GT3 will be released - is it June now?

Anyway - thanks for posting messages here in this post - it's remained fairly calm!
