I used to think my DVD player was on the blink, but it turns out it's the lead connecting the TV to the Video. On some DVDs I get a nasty flickering on the telly which tends to not go away.
Now, I know one end is SCART, but the other end... isn't. I think it's RF, it's just like a normal TV connection, a round port. Is it RF? Does that mean I need to buy an RF to Scart lead?
Thanks.
Came in handy when I had to record loads of DVD footage onto VHS for a 10 minute presentation. Highly illegal though. Ironically enough, my tutors congratulated me on an excellent presentation instead of castrating me for breaking copyright laws. And they're ALWAYS having a go at us for copyright.
If you run a DVD player through a VCR, there's something called macrovision that messes up the visual/audio transmission to the tv.. basically so you can't record DVD's to video.
Best thing to do would be to bypass the video and just plug it into your tv. If all dvds play then, then it's just macrovision.
If you can't plug your leads into your tv, and if it IS macrovision, then you could try and get a decoder box, which is about £50ish. Hella expensive, and probably more worth you thinking about investing in a tv with scart sockets.
:p
I can hook up a console (old ones like the 64 or new ones like the X-Box/PS2) and a video player... but that's about it. I'm terrible with technical stuff, despite being on a course where everything we do is technical.
