Dizzee Rascal.

....who? Still, at least The Darkness didn't win.
I'm awaiting with amusement the "Well he only won because they want to be politically correct" type arguments from people.

Can't say I've ever heard him to say anything

Has anyone noticed the pattern occuring here?

We get a "hot favourite" bands that is odds-on to win the award and then an unknown/lesser known bands scoops the award.

The bookies must be having a field day.

So, next year, when you see the odds for the favourite to win it, stump up a tenner and put it on the unknown band. I guarantee you'll win some cash.

It made me chuckle because I've never heard of him, but I have heard of The Darkness and they lost.
There'll be some throwing away of wristbands and mullets tonight.

I'll tell you EXACTLY who The Darkness remind me of, I just remembered:
Anyone see the video for Sum 41's "Fat Lip"? At the end they do an 80s metal pastiche?

Heh, yeah I had that last night.

Mate: "They keep giving it to the most working class people."
Me: "What?"
Mate: "They keep awarding it to urban music, that's what the MOBOs are for."
Me: "That's a bit racist innit?"
Mate: "Why?"
Me: "Suggesting that 'urban' music, by which you mean black artists, shouldn't be included in a 'best of the year' competition? And suggesting that they should be kept to their own awards?"
Mate: "Goodbye."

I love winding him up.
