Dizzee Rascal.

....who? Still, at least The Darkness didn't win.
I'm awaiting with amusement the "Well he only won because they want to be politically correct" type arguments from people.

Can't say I've ever heard him to say anything

I'm pleased Dizzee won - He's actually the only good band/artist that was nominated.

Radiohead - Alright I suppose...Too 'whiney' for my liking. And Thom is a spaz.

Coldplay - Mellow. (Get it?)

The Darkness - Muuuuuuhhhhhh. 21st century Def Leppard. They'll be gone by christmas.

Dizzee shows pure british black talent and he worked his way into the industry. Non of this "Rap Idol" milarky - He did it and he deserved it. Amazing lyrics and a good style of music.

Its just a shame he has'nt been noticed much (As shown by this post)

Download "Fix up look sharp" or "I luv u"

Brilliant.

Shouldn't it be spelt "Raskal"? It just doesn't seem right to be spelt in the usual way.

It's a crap award anyway.

Roni Size. They didn't even say it right.

But yeah, I heard one Dizzee Rascal song, and it didn't sound particularly different from any of the other artists that can't spell they own names.

That's such a crap name though, Dizzee Rascal. It's like how all of the rap and garage acts want to sound real bad, but he's just a rascal. And he like, doesn't drink or owt, but he does run in circles really quickly until he falls down. He's crazy. Or Crayzee. Ignorent Felun. ;o)

Dizzee Rascal is good, but his album is very samey. Almost as if some PR guy was standing in the studio, tapping his watch and saying, "Come on, the hype has reached unsustainable levels, just bang out a few more tunes, we'll release the album, the broadsheets will give it rave reviews and a bunch of Travis fans will buy it and stick it on their coffee tables."

The album had only been out two days when it was nominated. Even if you're listening to preview copies, how the hell does that work?

On the upside, I did win eighty quid by sticking a fiver on him at 16/1 the day after the nominations came out. I can smell journalists creaming themselves over how hip they are from a mile off.

the section was called "Pain for Pleasure" :)
it's very similar to the darkness as they're both tips of the hat to old school metal... i think i prefer sum 41 though, it's more of a by-product of fanboy-ism from them whereas the darkness, as technically good as they are do seem like they're trying too hard sometimes...
plus a lot of their stage prescense is lifted from spinal tap... ;)

Never heard of them... The Darkness are alright but I don't think they're as amazing and people seem to say they are.

Yep, I've guessed the winner correctly for about 6 years. didn't last year due to Miss Dynamyte (sic), but got Dizzy Rascal as soon as the nominees were announced. I don't bet however.
