Bridge
lamps
Johnson
Joe Cole
Terry

Thats a substantial amount of talent not many clubs have that many first team brits of high calibre under 24-25. Shame we only produced terry but still its a good effort at bringing good young english talent into play.

Also rans:

C, cole (restricted chances)
Duffer (counts but not in this conversation, as we are to all intents and purpose irelands home league too!)

I have to say joe cole and glenn johnson, bridge thats what i have to say!

We have done the decent thing we got loads of cash, had to buy to join the elite, but weve done the decent thing and bought some young english talent of our feeder club, West ham! In fairness to chelsea, given the sitaution any club would have bought big, but at least chelsea stood by their guns and bought young british talent. We have bought a lot foreigners but we have bought british and bought young so we are at least supporting the future good of british football. Not to mention Duffer nother good young brit, we haven't done the dirty thing of old and just bought foreigners. Chelsea will regularly be fielding 4 british players under 25, and sometimes 5 if cole can worm his way into a regular spot. Maybe on the right in competition with Gerermi.

At the moment, cole and Forsell are the only two young players to be feeling the effects of the buying. as they haven't go that much chance of regular game as things stand, however the new loan regulations have given them a brilliant chance to prove their worth. and are the bright side for them.

Huth's situation is still the same at the moment and he's starting to get a few games in, Terry is obviously firmly in the team.

In terms of youth of the future we only have felipe oliveira who was likely to break through this season so this hasn't been to detrimental AS YET. I'd like to see us continue a bobby Robson approach and if we can and maybe nick a few good youngsters from elsewhere such as micheal Dawson from Notts Forest, as it will take the youth system at least 3 or 4 years to start catching up with the standard expected. Hopefully we will start getting the youth players through again but for the mean time i am proud of the brits chelsea have bought and the fact they have stood by their promises.

Remember that argument we had about Chelsea not having young English talent? And you told me they did?

Well, you've now got rid of the very best of Chelsea's young'uns in place of an expensive foreigner (or two).

What have you got to say to that Ash?

apparently he is hard as nails, he supposed to be a good player. in fairness to chelsea we probably bought him as long term cover for petit in the def mid area but then we got makalele and petit became his backup

he is an inamoto kind of player, bought to build a fan base from his nation, who better for a russian billionaire to buy than the russian captain. gets those people of his back who were moaning about him ignoring russia

I dont mean that he is a Pompey play, just that we pretty much bought him for them, although he does belong to us. Realistcally, where is he going to fit in to a midfield where Makelele, Duff, Veron, Lampard, Joe Cole, Gronkjaer, Petit and Geremi are all fighting for places?

Hmm, both stories work, but I hadn't heard your version before today.

We need to find the truth.....

nah, thats not it, the guy who owns bodeaux is a mate of Roman's so he signed smertin to help him out as bordeaux needed to sell a player quickly to free up unds, Roman bpought smertin as he was an aquantance and to help make chelsea more popular in russia, and to show he was looking out for russian football.

I thought that Chelsea bought Smertin, and loaned him out to Portsmouth or someone...

Smertin was a mate of Roman's and wanted to go to portsmouth, but they couldn't afford him, so Roman offered to buy him for portsmouth.
