Despite being up to date with my Antivirus software, this virus is still unknown.
It has infected 1 file on my computer.
The file that is quarrantined by Norton's Antivirus is called verifier.class and is a trojan horse.
I have submitted it to Symmantec and hopefully they'll be able to tell me more about it and allow me to repair the file. According to their software, they should respond within a week, their average response time being 48 hours. Given that its the weekend, I'm not holding my breath.
If you get any emails from me via Hotmail and they have odd titles, delete/ignore them.
I'll give you more news as I get it.

I've used this for Windows XP but I have no idea if this affects other opperating systems or not so here go's.
First of all go to the start menu and click on run, in the run box type services.msc and then say ok.
A list appears, go down to the line that says messenger and right click on it and choose properties.
Under the general tap you should see a box saying startup type, make sure you select disabled and then apply it.
Next time you reboot your PC messenger will now be disabled.

Reading a email doesn't affect your pc with a virus... unless it like is really well written or something.

I've had various messages popping up with spam whilst ocnnected to the net - most asking me if I want to earn money for packing envelopes. :S
If there is a way to disable them, please let me know.
