That's what some people seem worried about at this precise moment.

Let me re-assure you, as a customer of Special Reserves, I feel extremely confident that the forums will not be closed down permanently.

As Snuggly said, Security hasn't actually been anything to worry about from SR's side for the way the accounts were stolen was not to do with hacking.

From a business point of view, many MANY non-customers become customers after joining the boards (from seeing the Gameaday competition for the reviews) and the proceed to buy products through the website.

If it wasn't for these forums (and the old GAD competitions) I probably wouldn't have been a continuous member for the 5+ years I've been registered as a paying customer.

Sure, I'd probably buy the odd item, but wouldn't have bothered with membership, nor would I have stuck to UKgames.com to buy stuff to save the price of a pint on a game.

If it does happen, I'd be very suprised. It wouldn't be beneficial to anyone, except to those who want to cause mayhem for a virtual trophy or a claim to ill-fame.

I do miss the old days, true. But I'm seen as a forum oldie now, and I remember when I first joined people were weeping that Golden Rhino wasn't round any longer. Looking through the rose tints. Some of the oldest posters on here are rubbish, like Sniper. I think we've got some quality new posters here, like Belldandy and Blank recently(ish). Rosalind wasn't around a while ago, she's a great poster. The only guys I miss from the "old days" are Strafex and Wookiee Monster. Oh, and Dr Gonzo. Mr Happy, too...Iguana doesn't post as much as shs used to. YOu don't see RBS-sponsered threads anymore. FM has disappeared....

And the problem with El Robin is he hasn't been consistently not annoying. He has a good post once in a while and then spoils it with 10 that are just rubbish. My advice is to leave for a few weeks until he falls off the top posters list then change his name. A fresh start and he keeps the stats.

Yeah i agree.

He isn't too bad, but you have to be consistently not so annoying. Crazy Col is beginning to not be hated by some forum members now, because he stopped making really stupid posts all the time.

yeah but that's because people are so nasty to him he doesn't care, even if it is a decent post which some of his are he gets a load of abuse. I've spoken to him a bit and he seems a nice enough guy and i like him.

Part of it thought is also that many of them bring it on themselves. If they are going to talk rubbish all the time then they should expect to be picked on. But some newbs are OK. I just feel that some of the OK ones are getting pushed away.

As for Robin, he really should try to stop the spam. I post a lot, but 90% of the time I do actually have something to say. He doesn't hence the criticism.

Yeah there is loads of rowing going on. everyone seems to have a grudge against newbies, JAT's and mainly robin, i think we should just all chat and not make enemies when we don't know the people.
