I watched this earlier and it's actually OK. Not particularly scary, but still a well told story. Haven't seen the Japanese original (which I've heard is a lot better), so I haven't got anything to compare it to, but I quite liked it. Not the sort of film I'd rush out and buy, but I don't regret seeing it once and I'll probably go and watch the Japanese version now. Kinda like an evil version of Pay It Forward.

I hated the way they Yankinated this superb Japanese flick. They made it un-scary (although some people were actually scared by both, I was scared by neither, but the Jap one had a greater atmosphere). And that American kid was just a rip-off of Haley Joel Osmont, and nowhere near as good. The kid from the original ruled more. In fact, the whole film ruled more. Nothing special, was the Yank version, if you've seen the Jap original. I spose it's aight if you've only seen the remake...
