What's your summer holiday been like? Any good? Did you go anywhere or do anything special? Basically, to make conversation, what did you do over the hols? Are you looking forward to school/college/uni?

Hmmm. Oh well. I don't actually know any schools near me who offer A-Levels that don't make you wear uniform.

Doesn't really bother me.

Not really. In some exams I needed less than half marks to get a C, thanks to my coursework.

Pah. I'm back tomorrow.

Year 11 (or 12 as it is here) isn't much different from the year before. In fact the only difference I can think of is that teachers try to put more pressure on you to succeed/revise, and build exams up to seem far worse than they really are. That and you get off school earlier for study leave.

You cheeky git! I've got tomorrow off and then I'm back at school. I'm dreading handing in coursework. I feel like I haven't done it right. But otherwise I'm quite excited. Apparently, lots of "good" things lie my way in year 11, according to the meetings Iwas called to at the end of year 10.

It's sixth form in a school, not a college.

Yeah, I guess so. But navy blue isn't good enough or dark grey.

That's a sensible rule.
