Or unless you've got a TV and a DC, in which case, like me, you can play Shenmue and MSR at 60 fps. :-)
Jap and American(NTSC) games are faster because there TVs run at 60 frames per second, as opposed to our Tvs running PAL that only run at 50 frames per second!
This basically means in real terms that most of our games are 17% slower (Unless theyre programmed to speed up, to compensate for the NTSC to PAL conversion).

i play games till 6 in the morning
All I know is that I thought I was good and some games that no one could beat me at here in England and when I played some of them in WImbledon I got destroyed. They go to school they go home and then they go to the loo and then PLAY GAMES until 6.00 the next morning!

somone was saying to me in college today that its because us brits cant handle the speed as we are inferior to the japs. is this true?
Dunno but Wave Racer wasn't so good in PAL for N64.
