On my computer when i go and hsut it down it sometimes comes up with the message:
'There is 1 user(s) still connected to your PC are you sure you wish to disconect them'
I was just wondering what this meant, and is there someone snooping around my PC because when i am online my internet connection is really slow even though i have adsl?!?

In XP, go to task manager (CTRL ALT DEL), then show all processes by all users, this shows all user names also, something might stand out ?
Or are you simply just shutting down without logging off all users first (if you use more than 1 user on XP)

It's quite possible you have an intruder. Do you have any firewall on your PC? Is there a network in your house to which your PC is attached?
There is a way in XP to find out who is logged into your machine, but I don't have XP to hand so you'll have to wait until I get home/someone else tells you.
