Not the way Kanoute's going. Who else you got apart from Crespo and Mutu?

I saw about 5 Serie A games last year, and they were all excellent.

The best were probably the Roma-Inter game that finished 3-3, the last 20 minutes were the best I have seen in any match. Another good one was Milan-Torino game that was called off because of rioting, that game was incredible, so much skill from Milan.

good, good. but these goals were plagued with shirt tugs and barges in the area and quite a few offsides.

thats a shame, i picked what i thought would be great games, the milan derby (recoba was worth watching, but...), some crap team versus juve and i relegation battle.

laid back= kind of defensive. defensive is not being aggressive, however being laid back means you could lack putting pressure on the other team.

the standard of defending in italy is still as poor as ever. thuram, nesta and a few others are brilliant, but there are many that tug people to the ground, unbelievably poorly timed tackles etc. (however again this could be just from the matches i saw.)

diving also disrupts the flow of play.

I'm sure this wasn't the case in every match. If every match was capped off by goals coming from poor refereeing decisions, then they're referees would be in more of a state than the ones in Britain... which they're not. If you picked low scoring matches every time, you were really unlucky.

Laid back doesn't equal defensive. You're saying it means you're not being aggressive, and this is fair enough, but you've failed to notice that you can be defensive and aggressive at the same time. Which debates your own point about whether laid back equals defensive.

i watched 8 quite big games (i also like that james guy, that used to be on c4 with their italian program)

i didnt say they play like that

i didnt think it was that good to watch and the 8 i watched were very, very low on goals. (the few goals there were, were poor refereeing decisions.

i agree here.

not sure here

laid back= in a way defensive. it means youre not being aggressive. i think italian clubs are fair enough, but i would far prefer the james guy doing a report section on british tv and watching the prem instead.

There's nothing wrong with the Italian style of football.

I take it none of you watched Serie A last season on Eurosport? If you did, you would've realised that there's more to the way they play than just sitting back and defending. Plenty of high scoring games, lots of top matches even if goals were a problem, and most of it was just generally good to watch.

The Champions League final was a 0-0 draw, yes, but there was plenty of attacking. The goalkeepers were just on great form. Look at how Juventus got to the final. To beat Real Madrid 3-2 is something to be proud of, and not only does it show that they're better than Real, it shows that they can attack when they want. AC Milan can attack as well, as they showed in their 3-3 draw with Ajax earlier in the Champions League.

If you don't like the style of play in Serie A, then fair enough. It's not really any more defensive than anywhere else - just more laid back.

Some one's a tad jealous. Aw did nobody want to sign spurs. Last week I recall a black demon (maybe someone under ur name) saying chelsea will win the league.

Mutu would start, duff would start, bridge is better than phil neville so it depends if silvestre's playing centre back, veron did start often just didnt play well, and crespo clearly would (over forlan and ole babyfaceskjaer who plays right wing now). So that settle that. Now tell me,honestly, how many of tottenham's players (except for positga) would actually make the man utd bench?

Indeed.

Did anyone catch the Italian Supercup? Excellent match, finished on penalties between Juve and Milan again, but this time the whole game was good to watch, and it finished 1-1.

oh well i'll settle for the champions league then. lol!!!!!! chelsea haven't got the italian style anyway, we have so much flair (cole, Duff, veron etc) that to say we have italian style was a bit of an insult to my own club!
