I need to buy a laptop for Uni and, well, I don't know where to look.

I'd go with Dell as they were rated the best when I last checked but they are a bit pricey.

Does anybody have any ideas of any good RELIABLE retailers who sell good RELIABLE machines?

Anyone who says Time or Tiny gets a slap!

Thanks.

Thinking about it dell are good. They never crash in my experience and run very smooth.

Don't by a Sony laptop. If it goes wrong the only place that can fix them is Sony (due to them not selling the spare parts), so they can charge what they like. There are a couple of other companies that do that but I can't remeber them :(

Belldandy is right about dell's tech support being virtually useless now they have moved it to india but there notebook are very good and you get a lot for your money with them.

Excellent!

I'm gonna go with Iridium probably, unless anyone else has anything to say about them? But I'll look at the others first.

Warning about Dell - they moved phone tech support to India, whilst the operators are friendly, they know jack all about PC support other than what is in the manual in front of them.
