He's slowly wheeling himself around and deeper into the house, not knowing that she is on her way back from town and could catch him out of his room.
This is like the most tense part of a movie I have ever seen, it's the first time a film has literally had me on the edge of my seat shouting at the tv.

I also love this film. I love the bit when Dan Akroyd is singing his own version of "I'll be coming round the mountain"
and
"I'll have an plain ommelette"

This line was even better in the book. It shows real coruage from the smallest of us - The Hobbit. Later, when the Return of The King comes out, I'll tell you my number one best movie moment!
