"Is there any good music out at the moment?"

Flicking through the music channels this morning - MTV, MTV2, MTV Base (aka MTV Black), The Box, Kerrang ("Shreeeedeeer"), etc... - it was so bad it made me turn the TV off. It's not the fact that there are so many dalendless shids out there at the moment, it's been like that for ages, it's the fact that none of them can carry a decent tune. You'd think these companies pumping thousands into promotion for their little manufactured puppets would take a second to actually write a good tune - it's not that difficult, it's only pop music - but everything I've been hearing lately has been awful, awful rehashes of the manufactured pop acts from the 70's. Nothing that makes me stop and listen for even a second.

Geg all chart music is crap.
Better get to know those unknown bands etc before they turn into one of them!

Not much. There's this explosion in crap bands beginning with 'the' at the moment. :(

Ah yes, the Kinison was a good recommendation Sibs, quite enjoyed the song on their website. Nice one!

Every time I hear the word pop in association with music I cringe.

Pop doesn't mean anything, for gods sake, they were calling oasis a 'pop' band on several news broadcasts not so long ago. What?

What does POP mean? If it is short for popular, then any music is pop, including classic, opera, electronic, indie, rock, r&b.

I wish they would remove this word from the english language.

And as for those crappy manufactured boy/girl groups, they should have a separate chart for these child orientated groups, so as to spare real talented artists the embarrassment of having their latest work, which they have put their heart and soul into, beaten by some crap about fast food, or a song about "touching my bum".
