Not really relevant, but is connected with the PS2. I was wondering if any of you could recommend a TV for me to get that would show off all the bells and whistles of the PS2 games. I have got a Dedicated DVD Player, but I want my PS2 to have a dedicated TV. I was thinking around the 28" Models as they could show it all off well. Any ideas or recommendations? And if you do, where is the cheapest place to Order one from???

Dixons sell a 5 into 1 scart socket multi block for between 10 and 15 pounds. It has gold (plated) connectors too.

I think Argos and Richer sounds also sell them too.

I had a very similar problem, My tv has 2 scart sockets, but I have scart leads from my psx2, dreamcast, dvd player, and my pc. Hence the multi-block.

hope this helps

I don't know if there is really a 'best' cable, to be honest. The one my Sony Centre gave me was a Bandridge ProFi Gold 24-karat gold plated cable. It's flat (unlike most which are thick round cables), fully screened and shielded (to eliminate interference), and as I said ealier, it's not cheap!

I bought my parents a low-end Sony DVD player for Christmas, and their SCART cable cost £9.99 - the picture quality is only marginally lower.

Essentially all SCART leads are the same, so you'll never need to upgrade it; the only issue is how 'perfect' you want your sound and vision!

Special Reserve have a 2-into-1 SCART adapter box (catalogue number GG2758) which would solve your problem. But do you really need one? Does your DVD player have a SCART input? You can connect you PS2 to that!

My TV only has 2 SCART sockets - my DVD player is connected to the first, and my video is connected to the second. My PS2 is connected to one of the 2 SCART inputs on my DVD player, and it works perfectly well; I don't even have to turn the DVD player on to use my PS2!

Thanks for telling me that, it is what I wanted to know. I don't just want a normal one though, because it would only be a one-time purchase where I do not need to ever upgrade on, so do you have any recommendations on a best cable for a DVD Player? I have a Toshiba SD100E if that helps.

Just one more thing. As I only have 2 Scart Sockets but need 3, do you have any place that sells a good quality Scart Adaptor, or would any Adaptor do?

If you could help me on these 2 Issues I would be very greatful!

Sorry - yes, any cable sold as SCART is an RGB SCART cable.

If you look at the SCART adapter block that comes with you PS2, you'll notice that it only has 11 of the pins connected. A 'true' RGB SCART cable has all of the pins at both ends.

So an RGB Cable is just any normal Scart Cable? I bought one at the time from Richer Sounds, through the Internet, and the Reciept is with me, but there is no Scart Cable, so whether they bring it through Separatly or if it was missed off, I will find out on Monday, but there Premium Cable cost me £19.95!

What is the difference between a normal Scart cable and an RGB Cable? I have not seen any cables that have "RGB" written on them!

RGB SCART is by far the best for DVD. You can get a SCART cable from practically anywhere; SR do them, or you can go to any high-street hardware store to get them. Cheapest will be around £7 to £10.

(I was lucky - when I got my Sony DVP-S725D, the Sony Centre gave me a top-quality gold-plated SCART lead, worth £45, for free!)

Just something else now. I got my DVD Player today, and I was wondering which connection is really the best for picture quality? There are several types, but is it really RGB? If this is the case, does anyone have a Website that I could order the Cables from and how much they would cost???

I have a Sony WEGA 28" widescreen, and it's ideal.

Granted it's not cheap, but it's very, very nice!

Uh... try Mackro.

The best (and cheapest) TVs are not the well known ones, try one of the smaller companies like LG (or that other one that I can't remember!) They have BIG TV's for LOW, low prices! And they work a charm! =)
