I recall there was another thread on this film but started a new one anyway.

One of the strangest but refreshingly original films I've seen in a long time. Very thought provoking.

Anyone else seen it? And what is that tune called at the end of the film, it's superb.

Hmmmm...

"The Box" sounds fantastic... just well... seems a bit of a cruddy name to me.

An Interview with Eli Roth:

"I’m also writing a movie with Rich Kelly called The Box, and I went to see Donnie Darko while I was cutting Cabin Fever, and I was so blown away by it; and Rich loves Cabin Fever, so we’re, we’re writing a movie, and that’s going to be much more like a psychological horror film, much more at The Ring end of the spectrum."

in my opinion it is important to explain enough to make the story work, but not get too technical or it just becomes drab and boring.

that rabbit scared the shhh out of me I must admit. great stuff.

of course, the definitive time travel films are back to tha future

Donnie Darko is one of those films thats full of deconnotations - theres so many things that are there but not explicit.

You can conjur up your own meanings of the film itself to make it your own personal experiance :)
