When, in relation to when you had to have it finished, did you actuallt start working on teh first draft ?
How long did you spend doing a literature review ?
When di you even start any work on it, again in relation to the hand in date ?
I'm doing mine, hence I'm curious how you lot did yours :) I seem to have spent June and July just note taking - mine is not based on fieldwork by the way - and I reckon I won't be starting a lit review until second to last week in August at this rate !
I spent months doing experiments with woodlice and petri dish, trying to combine them like the Brundle fly, so that they could conduct their own chuffing experiments. Then I decided to get serious and carried out ground breaking research, finding that surprise surprise woodlice prefer dark and damp habitats over dry and light ones. As I couldn't get hold of any Spiders I couldn't find out if woodlice would prefer a dark, damp environment with a big Spider in, or a dry, light one without. The world will never know.
Anyway, did the write up the night before, after spending a week analysing the data, creating tables (which all corrupted when I converted my document from Word perfect into Word when I went to print it out on a mate's computer but I didn't have time to sort them out) and my introduction took a couple of days. The two litre bottle of Cola I consumed at three in the morning got me my degree...
My advice. Get your ass in gear and submitt a draft to your assessor early enough to obtain feedback and to allow you to make changes.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
~Ahem~
Sorry, but I always like to point that out to people who are wedged in Dissertation land...
I made a 3D racing game, and wrote a 10,000 word report on how to make racing games and how I did mine!
Spent pretty much most of the academic year making it, while also working on 4 other projects. erm... started writing the first bit of my diss just before xmas. Mainly because we had to hand in an interim report for our readers to take a look at.
Then properly started the final report .... erm.... a month or two before I had to hand it in!
You need to start quick, because you have to spend LOADS of time rejiging it, rearranging it, cutting sections out etc etc, to try and fit it around the pesky work limit!
:)
