He did then go on to say that part of this decline was because people could actually specialise their science degree so much and so the entrants into standard bio, chem and phys courses were instead applying for neurological biochemistry and other tightly defined courses. But still, he said the number of people who get science degrees in this country is declining fast while rising quickly in areas like China and India.

Ah well, I'll have a science degree from one of the top universities in the country, so I'm not all that fussed. Also York has a lake. I wonder many students end up in there after a nights drinking...

Heh, wait til you do a careers module at Uni, where they tell you a degree doesn't matter all that much now 'cause so many have them now. 'specially if it's something like media *spits*. About the bare minimum for a lot of graduate schemes now is a degree with at least a years work experience, so having three I'm not worried :)

I was going to apply to York to do Physics with Astrophysics. Now I'm not, because the course isn't actually what I want to do. I have found a nice Astronomy, Space Science and Astrophysics course at Kent though.
