Ever since I've heard that the GBA games might cost £30 - £40 I've had my doubts about the machine.

Now we find that Mario 2 is going to be the Mario game on it. So if this is true, Nintendo are giving us a machine the power of the Snes but are releasing a Nes game on it???

And they'll expect us to pay £30+ for it too?

If so, I think that Nintendo might be getting a little bit greedy here. They could just as easily release "Mario All Stars" (A SNES compilation of nes Mario's) which would have "Mario 2" included in it. Having heard that "Mario 3's" battle game is in Mario advance it might mean that Mario Advance is "Mario All Stars" after all, but if not...

If you look at many of the games, lots of them are simply Snes conversions which is fine but I wouldn't want to fork out £30+ for a game when you could go to a second hand shop and pick it up for £10.

Both Nintendo and Sony have monopolised their own area of the games market (Consoles for Sony and Handhelds for Nintendo) and it seems they've both released backwards - compatible follow ups that eare in high demand (GBA and PS2) and neither company seem to be doing their best to compete with other machines.

They've become COMPLACENT.

Why can't we have the Snes Mario, Super Mario Land??
Are they planning to release each Mario one by one to get profits from every cartrige?
Do they expect us to pay £30 - £40 for 2D games (some we've already played before) when we can get Gamecube titles for maybe less??

Nintendo are definately working hard with the Gamecube but they seem to be simply milking the Gameboy's name (like Sony are milking the Playstation name) whn it comes to the GBA.

I might be wrong.
Mario Advance might be "Mario All Stars" after all.
The games might only cast £20 - £25.
And if so then I will definately buy one.

BUT, if Nintendo do become complacent, and start trying to rip us all off because they think we'll buy anything they release, I'll be looking at competing handhelds.

Edgy, 10 years ago was 1991.

The first days of the Snes with Mario World.

Or that might have happened in 1992 but it was one of those 2 years that we saw Mario's last decent 2D platformer released.

I'm hoping that Nintendo will release most of it's Snes games as compilations like
Mario All Stars and hopefully similar compilations for Zelda and Donkey Kong Country but it seems more likely that Nintendo will release each Snes/nes game as a single title to make more money.

I hope I'm wrong...

Nintendo wont rip us off with rubish! Look at the development that gone into GBA MarioKart, and youll see the effort!

Sure alot of the games will look like a cross between there Snes and N64 counterparts. However the games will be tweaked to make the best of the little machine!

Plus you will probably be able to download games from your Gamecube Discs for free...by connecting the GameBoyAdvance up to your Gamecube...Which is exciting.

Plus if carts are expensive the games will be big or compilations. For example like MarioAllStars (SNES) or The Sonic Collection (Saturn).

I would love to see all Sonics 2D adventures on the GBA!

I seriously hope that

I'm hoping there will be a "Zelda Allstars" cart like the "Mario Allstars"on the SNES. It could feature zelda 1, 2, 3, 4 and maybe 8 and 9!

I think they are making a lot of sequels to some of the GB only titles (like Wario land 3 could do with a better sequel)
However they are also making new games like Kuru Kuru Kururin!

The last decent one was released 10 years ago!

I can't wait for a brand new 2D Mario platformer! Those were the best!
But 10 years ago was 1990! The first Mario BRos game on the NES had only just been released! Where were you for Mario BRos 3 and Mario World?

A platformer becomes a first person shooter?

I hope not, but I suppose a first person veiw would be alright if it was just one of many camera angles you could play the game!

As for 3D, expect little more than a Snes conversion of Starfox!

3D isn't always great...

People, alerted to the Metriod being a FPS news, are now beginning to think the "true" sequel will be on the GBA...

From what I've heard it's a handheld Snes.
I seriously hope that Nintendo don't try to charge us £30 for 10 year old Snes games (and even older Nes games).

I'm hoping they'll keep the system cheap and try to release their older games mainly as compilations and concentrate on NEW games.
