I was thinking 'why does everyone say Dreamcast is dead?'. when it clearly isn't - there's only around 7million, but that's enough consoles to continue making games for, but there re a lot of consoles that have clearly gone under the water and haven't yet risen.
Where's your MasterSystem/Nes? What adventure is your MegaDrive?SNES on? is everyone REALLY using their Saturn's as a doorstop? I don't think so. Maybe, just maybe, you've placed them where no one can see them, perhaps in the loft or in the freezer (maybe not...), but when you think back to the games that you were playing on these old formats, it's clear that the gameplay surpasses anything today!
Go on, take out space invaders! Wipe the dust off you Amiga or Commadore; find that Sonic game from your Master System (oh wait, it was built in!)! I think it's a crying shame that we should be expected to be playing 'modern day' machines, yes they are also very good, but many lack originality. The best ideas are the simplest, and so Pacman should be played by everyone, right now! The trouble with new games is that many consist of mindless shooting and stabbing and fightin - sure that's fun, but with games like Lemmings and Pac-Man and alike, you can actually be learning when you're playing, and that in my view is a good thing.
Anyway, get Sega Rally out once more and beat my challenge time of 50.12 seconds on the desert track with the Lancia Stratos, be the first person to complete Pac Man and then take a picture of the final screen - what ever you do, just don't ignore the old ones - they're the best.

Recently, I decided to keep my PSX when I got the new DC, because as an investment has been made (48 PSX games), I don't fancy getting back maybe just one third of what I paid for them by selling them.
So the PSX games still come out now and again, but eventually that will go to one of my sisters kids when they are old enough to appreciate gaming. (My nephew is only 6 and he finds it funny to get the main character killed all the time, like feeding Flik to the spiders or making Tarzan jump into ravines, that kind of thing. We think it's a phase he's going through.)
So, for now, the DC reigns supreme in my gaming day, and I think it should do me for the next 24 months or so as the catalogue of titles builds up next to it.
When the X-Box arrives, I'm not sure if I'll part-ex the DC for it. We'll see.
NO!!!
Where have you seen this?
Anyway, Panzer Dragoon Saga fetches £1000 (oh I mean £100)...
But I'm glad people still respect their old little number bits - I'm glad to have started discussions on it.
Keep posting!
Oh yeah, me and my brother got out one of the many Saturns I have, connected it up to the PC and Sega rally was supreme - and I managed to get 55.73seconds straight off. What was everyone's best lap by the way (on desert course)? I think I got down to 50.12 with the Stratos, but my mate broke the 50seconds barrier!!!
Anyway, the good times don't have to be forgotten!!!
For example my Saturns in my little sisters room, she uses it as a CD player, plus she loves the Sonic Collection on it! My Brother and I regularly Swap N64 and PS1 around, currently he likes playing ISSPro and I like PerfectDark!
The Amiga gets brought out occassionally when I need to do some artwork or want to play Cannon Fodder, and the Snes gets brought out when I want to play MarioAllStars or MarioKart.
People should keep their old systems its good to look back occasionally, alot of the old school games are still great!
