We seem to be starting quite a few at the moment, so lets keep it all in one place.

This is your centre for enquiring about/recommending/talking about any albums, songs or rappers.

Enjoy.

The only track I dont really like is that one with Brandy in. Crack Music is okay, and the others are great.

I haven't listened to Freshman Adjustment so I really like Hey Mama. Bullett, why dont you like Addiction?

He OK'd FA though. I know it wasn't an Official Kanye release, but still.

And the track with Brandy in - half of the lyrics are from another Freshman Adjustment track.

Anyhoo, the crappy tracks ain't going to stop me listening to it. Thank teh lord for the skip-forward button :)

He didn't even put out Freshman Adjustment. It was just a collection of unreleased material that the distributor put together.

I gotta say I love all those songs you listed, can't stand Drive Slow though.

I don't know, that song doesn't bother me too much. Tracks like Crack Music, Addiction and Hey Mama are irritating me muchly.

If he hadn't put Hey Mama on Freshman Adjustment, I'd probably love it, as I did then, but it's the same old song but with an extended, drawn out ending.

Favourite tracks - Roses, We Can Make It Better, Gone, Celebration

I do find some of his statements in songs a bit hard to stomach, but racism is definetly more prominent in America.

After listening to artists like Kanye and Immortal Technique, I can't help but do a bit of reading into the subject that they're talking about. It's quite amazing the kind of stuff that even the media over here doesn't report on, it's even worse over there though.

It's not suprising that people react the way Kanye does at times, it does make him look like he's playing the race card a lot with outbursts like this.

Touch The Sky was on the radio before Late Registration dropped. It may have been a teaser, it may have been his next single.

I find Late Registration overall 'very good'. There are some awful tracks on there, which really let it down. No matter how many times I listen to them, they don't grow.

EDIT - correction, it wasn't Touch The Sky on the radio, it was the one before it - the first song on the track. Can't remember the name of it right now.

I think it's definately a bigger issue in the US that over here, hoepfully in the future it wont be a problem.

Anyways, what track from his new album do you think Kanye will release next? He's already released Diamonds and Gold Digger, I thin k he'll release Heard 'Em Say or Touch the Sky...or both.

I find it amusing him rapping about that and then thinking about him going back home to his big old mansion and relaxing. In some states it's probably true, mainly states like Tennessee, Ohio and Kentucky where they haven't moved on and lack the education however in places like New York it certainly isn't the case.

Kanye has such major hang ups about race. He's obsessed with the idea that black people are being oppressed by white people, almost every song on both albums mentions it in one way or another. I really don't know how true it is in America but over here it's certainly not the case, which makes it seems like paranoia or something.

I don't like him citing that looting incident as racism, though. Check out Timmargh's thread in Life for my views on that.
