The "Freeola Customer Forum" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
Guess what.
They've gone.
So have the pictures.
So have my silly little flash animations and downloads.
So did the forum I had up.
I've just noticed that the forum didn't work when I checked on Monday. I don't know how, but whoever/whatever did it only deleted stuff from my folders containing the larger files. The folder with my reviews wasn't touched.
I'm annoyed now. Because I actually said I would back them all up because I haven't got a copy of them anymore! So I have no games.
:c(
I'm gonna email Freeola tomorrow just to find out if they had any problems. I've got to find all the piccies and get all the games back again now.
And re-upload them.
And pay money.
Damn.
This is Phil, P8ssed off, signing out to have a shower because I smell!
Goodbye.
For 15 minutes.
> How do you think the include thing was hacked exactly??
It doesn't want to work now. But before, if you entered a URL after that ?page= bit, it would load that page up. Thus allowing soeone with too much time the ability to do something...
I don't know how they'd do it but it could be something like including a file manager...
I wasn't aware of how it could be done. Someone just told me that people could include external URLs, and he gave me another bit of code that excludes external URLS...
Don't ask me how it works, I was just told that but I can see some logic too it.
But as Pocketmonkey.co.uk has gone too I'd guess that someone's p*ssed about... I still don't get why they only deleted from a few folders though?
I demand vengance! And blood, definitely blood.
> I think the answer is simple.
... please elaborate :)
Put a paypal thing on your website and say you were hacked, explaining that donations will be necessary to get the site back to full strength again.
Could it also be possible that Freeola have removed the files because they were using to much bandwidth?? Was your site popular?? Were they very large files?
You mean someone may have run their external 'hack' code through your web page structure??
Someone found a gaping hole in one of my PHP scripts that I've got. I know what it could be, it's to do with the page include thingy...
I'm gonna change it to another one I've got now, this one reads the file from the root directory of the server so you can't include external pages, which could have been the problem.
Seeing how it went on Sunday too, I'd guess this 'hacky' thing might be behind it...
I'll email Freeola and see if they took any backups before the weekend, hopefully they did.
*crosses fingers*
