Well, we all know how much I loved my large collection of games and how long it took me to find them don't we?
Guess what.
They've gone.
So have the pictures.
So have my silly little flash animations and downloads.
So did the forum I had up.
I've just noticed that the forum didn't work when I checked on Monday. I don't know how, but whoever/whatever did it only deleted stuff from my folders containing the larger files. The folder with my reviews wasn't touched.
I'm annoyed now. Because I actually said I would back them all up because I haven't got a copy of them anymore! So I have no games.

I'm gonna email Freeola tomorrow just to find out if they had any problems. I've got to find all the piccies and get all the games back again now.
And re-upload them.
And pay money.
Damn.

So, which host are you guys going to move to? I've been looking around myself, but not sure what's best.
BTW, I find that the "strip_tags" function *does* remove php tags, but I wasnt using it on my bulletin board, only on my visitors book. I still think this was my only vulnerability, though, so I'm still puzzled as to what happened.

I am moving away as fast as possible. Mainly because i prefer now to pay a fixed yearly charge and use my broadband connection than dial-up with their extremly slow connection.

I too am upset with the SR. They've been a bit naughty with things before, but this is totally evil. Blatantly denying they've had a problem is quite worrying, to be honest.
Well, I've checked through all the includes and there's nothing that could have been hacked there, but ...
My bulletin board and visitor books obviously have text input boxes - I use PHP's "striptags" function to stop people putting in HTML, but I've just found that it doesnt stop me putting in PHP scripts. Even so, I do moderate the board, and the script wouldnt be executed until I did.
But I'd better do something more to stop raw PHP being entered before I reload the site.

And I fianlly managed to finish the site that started my quest to make something decent...

Now the site can be edited by anyone from the club who wants to. And the scores can all be updated remotely too.
Considering before I had to copy the scores from an Excel page and copy them into Frontpage and then upload the page manually, I think I've made a slight inprovement...
Hopefully the site will be updated this year now seeing as I could never be bothered last year!

If they do it again I'll just ask them to give me access to dial up normally to upload or something. I'm not gonna let them get more money off of me because of their error, which the Freeola manager knew about, but nobody else did.

Lost my respect after this one. I thought they were good but the way they handled this was terrible...
If I get a big inflow of cash, I'm 'moving out' straight away!
