Report due today.
Mentions the facts in nice, concise and clear points.
Of course, you could argue that the BBC is biased thanks to Alistair Campbell's comments.
Or you could argue that Campbell's tactics are to divert attention and interest away from the fundemental issues and get everyone concentrating on 45 mins and "sexed up".
I'll only say that Campbell is not an elected official, merely an independantly appointed advisor for Blair. A Spin Doctor who's job it is to minimise damage and put government in a favourable light.
He certainly deserves a raise, whatever the result.

It might be nice if you remembered the gallery existed though. I don't know how to describe your behaviour other than ignorant and selfish. Like you suggested, if I don't like what I'm seeing I can decline to read it. However yesterday if I'd of took that attitude, probably half the active threads would have been out of bounds because you, goatboy, practical magic and a few others filled them with "debate". And yesterday wasn't an isolated incident where tempers got a little frayed or something, its been going on over a long period of time. When topics are being turned into little battlegrounds between the same 2 or 3 posters where they are more interested in being right and proving their superiority then there isn't room for others to seriously reply or offer anything constructive to the discussion.
Personally, I made a conscious decision not to reply to your posts in general (ok so I'm breaking my own rule here. :P) so maybe it doesn't matter to me so much. But I'm sure there are people who would like to respond to the topics that are posted but aren't really given the opportunity because once they've devolved into people's personal little battlegrounds, it makes it incredibly difficult to post something without getting involved or to have your post even noticed.
If you're a poster on this board, then I think you have some responsibility to consider the effects of what you are posting. Now if I understand your general message here, you're saying well you do understand but you don't care. I think thats quite a remarkable attitude for somebody who is usually so self righteous concerning the behaviour of other people/countries etc. etc.

Like the church and science...
If sex is a sin then why are priests raping choir boys?

Of course, you dont cling onto issues either, hauling them over many weeks do you?
Nope.
And you certainly dont dissect a post if you think you can, returning time and time again to nitpick the slightest points.
Nope
It's all Light and myself.
And the reason I'll personally keep bringing you to task is that you actually believe that.
Make intelligent opinions grounded in fact and that's cool. Make spurious points and defend them to the point of self-satire and you'll get picked up on them. But that's when you let a thread go and pick up another where you feel justified in continuing.
Y'see Bell, it takes two to have an argument - so your responses are just as numbing as the criticisms levelled against you.
Like being wrong on "Gardening in Iraq", like being wrong on support polls, like being wrong about Kapos, like not mentioning Pinochet links that you cannot argue about, like sneering at "my beloved BBC" yet linking to BBC stories when it suits you....
And I said it below in another thread you've avoided, if you only admit when you are in the wrong then people would stop laughing at you.
But you wont.
So this will continue.
What does that say? Well, it indicates that we're all forthright in our opinions but not easily swayed - even in the face of facts being readily available.
Human nature and a tendency to refuse to admit defeat in the face oif overwhelming evidence are the reasons for this.
So what am I trying to say? Not much, really. You can argue until you're blue in the face, but sometimes that's not enough to change a person's opinion.
> Doesnt anyone get a "this is played out" feeling???
Yup. You see the problem is that Light likes to post, insult me, then try to make out that's the end of it, and pretending he's the grown up one, and should anyone reply well they're just trying to get the last word...
Hence we go round and round and round ad infinitum...

Point taken Tigmilla, but here's the thing; I'm not posting what I post to play to the gallery. If you don't like what you read, don't read it (and judging by your post, you won't). I post for either myself, or to debate a point. In the case of the posts to Belldandy...well, he riles me to be honest. Not cos of his opinions but for his moral, emotional, and intellectual cowardice.
I'm sure that there are subjects that have you spitting bile/lavishing praise in a passionate manner. I wouldn't presume to tell you that you're somehow wrong for having those feelings about those subjects. So whilst I do appreciate what you're trying to say and why you're saying it, I won't be moderating my behaviour on this board. Could it be that no-one else is joining in cos they're not interested? If that is the case, then no-one is forcing them to get interested.
As a side note, I know how immature I'm acting in some of my little rants about Bell. Thing is, unlike Bell, I don't take myself that seriously. So I can appreciate that some think me a bit of a fool. Can't say as I much care. Opinions are opinions are opinions...
Come on, isnt it time you put your petty differences aside, picked up what remnants of respect you still hold for yourselves and just dropped the whole thing??
Im not taking sides - I think both parties are displaying equally appaling levels of immature behaviour.
I know i didnt have to read the thread in the first place, but the regularity with which the same people post simply to exchange insults has forced me to comment.
