I been awake since 8 o'clock yesterday morning; it's now 7.05pm in the evening (that's 35 hours) and I haven't even dozed - I spend my day in one of these ...

http://www.stannah.co.uk/powerchair/s201_index.htm

... and while it's comfy, it's not exactly a bed! I stayed up on purpose (I was waiting for news about a friend who's ill) and saw the dawn with the obligatory morning chrous from the birds.

Despite a few aches and pains, I'm feeling pretty good and have got *loads* of work done (working from has some serious advantages) so I'm seriously considering doing this on a regular basis, say once a fortnight, when I've got a big workload.

Does anyone know of any dangerous side effects I should be aware of and does anyone else engage in a similar practice?

The longest I've stayed awake before (excluding parties where) was 29 hours: wake at 8am in Florida; fly to Dallas; fly to Gatwick; drive to Cheltenham; drive to Worcester; drive to Kidderminster and work for 8 hours and finally to bed at 9pm.

I don't think so, but I have been to many an internet cafe, and you'd need a crowbar to prise me away from a computer, like I said, I feel his pain.

I have had 5 hours sleep in the last 36 hours. Not quite as impressive as you, but I am going to the gym in 30mins…I bet I fall asleep on the treadmill, fall over and her the treadmill belt rasp my nipples off.

Questions end with question marks. That's the second time I've done this today.

The side effects of sleep deprivation can include halucinations and confusion. It can also feel like you are becoming distanced from your body.
