"Sacrilege of the highest order."

I almost committed suicide yesterday after seeing some of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. If you remotely enjoyed that programme, don't read on - you WILL suffer emotional pain.

Basically they have a fifth (5th!) turtle, with a light blue headband. Not only that, it's a girl. Indeed, not only THAT. Her headband turns into a long plait at the back of her head.

And it doesn't end there. In the small section I saw before rapidly vomitting, they actually brought Shredder into the hideout, because "he's another ninja, and even though he's our enemy, he's injured and we should help him". There's now another main enemy who has some sort of puppet as a sidekick.

And the fighting has gone to pot.

I'm crying as I write this.

Splinter was the best, OBVIOUSLY.

I caught the very very end of a trailer for this, just saw the logo, and got very very excited. Now you've ruined everything.

Next they'll be feeding the brain-in-a-jar with fish flakes.

What kind of messages does this give out to our kids?
That girls can be as good as boys?
That we should be nice to everyone?
Bloody hell, what kind of idiots will they grow up to be.

At least show the old, proper series' and regain what little respect anyone has of them.

Anyway, another thing is they've ruined the headbands. One has a headband that covers his whole head, anothers goes over the lower portion of his head etc. All have different levels of head coverage. Which is not nice. I thought the whole reason for having the multicoloured headbands was to tell them apart? If so, why do they need varying sizes?

There's so much wrong with this series. It's more like a comedy thing now. And André Agassi tennis for Mega Drive is CRAP.

If The sagacious one does, and this is true, it is sacrilege! You can't ruin such classics!

It gets worse. They are going to introduce a new character Turtle Durtle, who is a cheeky young scamp that tries to get into fights with vastly superior opponents. As he is so young, he is armed with a teddy bear that can do Kung-Fu and often gets the little rascal out of trouble, often to the chargrin of Turtle Durtle who always retorts "I could have kicked his butt to the extreme!"

Amen to that.

I haven't seen this alleged new series and frankly if it is as bad as described here, I think it would be too painful to do so. If they have slaughtered the most excellent character of Michelangeolo (yes, the pizza loving one with the orange headband) it is clearly a travesty.

They should have let the Turtles rest in peace instead of resurrecting them when the nimrod idea creaters ran out of good ideas.

I saw this version once on TV a few years ago; it's simply crap compared to the original, which is an old-skool classic.
