What do you do? You chuck down a bit of alcohol down and then you begin to feel all happy and weird, walk home funny, then you go to bed feeling crap and maybe throw up.
Next day you gloat to your mates how much you drunk and they call you 'hard'
I have nothing against drinking alcohol and im 18 but getting drunk in my opinion has no purpose at all. As Sheepy says 'im on holiday'
Yes I do like having a laugh but drinking is not what i call a laugh, yes you have laugh while being drunk but that's under the influence of alcohol and not yourself.
I've read Tony Adams autobiography about him fighting against his Alcholism plus his life and career. Alcohol ruined his life and almost his career until he decided to stop. In my opinion drinking is all brought up by peer pressure, i like a a beer or 2 or some other alcoholic drink but drinking more is has no sense of all other than making you feel good if you have had a bad day for a night and making you 'hard' Oh and 'pulling' girls/guys while you are both drunk and gloating to your mates is not cool, it might be fun but try getting someone using the more sensible way.
Do people have no logic? Even when a fooballer dies people have not learnt how short life is and how shorter it can get.
But friends of mine go out and get totally smashed, i dont see the point in that really. Its costly and it makes you look like a fool.
Admittedly it is a drug, and some people are addicts although they would never view them selves as such.
I just don't like binge drinking. Too neddish, too yobbish.
It's a drug. Simple as that. Your inhibititions lessen, you become that bit more sociable; you have a good time. You don't NEED to drink to have a good time, but why not do it every now and then? Variety is the spice of life, as they say.
Boredom and apathy in life arise from too much meaning-searching, and continually asking yourself 'why'?
Act on impluse. Forget your responsiblities. Live for the moment.
Like it or not, you do NOT ever have full control over yourself, over how you speak, feel, or act.
If you don't believe drinking is worthwhile on balance of benefits & drawbacks, fair enough and I respect that. If however, you just don't see the reason for drinking in the first place (and how some can justify it), you are ignorant, not mature.
I think that if you're gonna get drunk do it upto a level then STOP... I should know I got f****d last weekend (Not deliberately) it was because i was drinking spirits and they allow you to drink lots because they dont fill you up or something.Anyway the physical and mental pain that follows such a night is nothing to be proud of at all.
I dont think theres anything hard bought being able to drink a barrel of anything.
How can you define a good weekend as one that you can't actually remember?
There are other things that annoy me about the about the amount of sheer boozy louts these days. Like they make the city centre more dangerous at night. I have some friends that refuse to be in the city centre past 10. I don't really blame them.
Also the violence and crime amungst drunken neds. It ends up hurting the country financially through lost productivity and extra, needless strain on the NHS.
If people want to get drunk then fine. But if they are, then they should at least do it without infringing on the rights of others. And yes I am refering to that guy who was steaming on teh bus on Sunday night.
