Perfect Blue - Plot twist, stalker kinda thingy.

Ghost in the shell- Great. Wait for the 2 disk set coming out, at least I think there's one coming ouy.

Patlaour 1 and 2 - bargin for £19.99 together. Look aroud and you might
be able to get it even cheaper.

Macross Plus - The 3 disk set. Another great collection.

Princess Mononoke - A nice little title.

Neon Genesis Evangelion - Try and get the complet collection.

Martian Successor Nadesico - Again try and get the complet collection again.

This one comes highly recomended from nearly everybody but I've never had chance to see it.

Blackjack is pretty good too. I quite enjoyed it whenI watched it. Another good one that I forgot to mention was Spriggan. Don't let all the relgion and stuff put you off. Very good it is.

Another that I don't think is on DVD is battle Angel Alita. I think it might have been from omic books or something but that was another one I enjoyed too. Just started getting the comics as of late. Very good too.

I also recently noticed Excel Saga to be a rather interesting looking series.
I didn't really know much about it until I happened upon a tiny piece of info about it, so I did a bit of research (looked at some reviews), and it sounded great. I downloaded the first couple of episodes from Kazaa and it really impressed me.

I can’t easily describe it as it’s quite indescribable, but it’s a madcap spoof show which parodies lots of anime shows.
The description I've read is as follows:

"Excel Saga contains the chronically over-challenged and understaffed secret ideological organization of ACROSS (total membership: 2), whose goal is to conquer the city of F. It contains your complete daily requirements of Martian princesses, afro-wearing action heroes, mysterious
governmental agencies, space butlers, deranged comic book authors, androgynous prisoners in iron masks, annoying roommates, removable
moustaches and a generous supply of adorably cute aliens bent on galactic
domination. Excel Saga contains one (1) emergency food supply/singing dog
and one (1) Excel, the most certifiably insane teenage girl to ever walk the face of the planet."

Surprisingly, the first dvd is out in the UK with the rest still to follow. How can an insane show like this which will go over the head of most people get released here and not other, more normal shows like the amazing Cowboy Bebop? Strange.

I saw the first two episode today. Very, very funny. Like you said, indescribable really. I did enjoy it and will try to watch the rest of them if I ever get the chance.

NOTE : Anime = Japanese animation / Manga = Japanese comics
NOTE : Less than 1% (if even that) of animes are "cartoon porn"
NOTE : More 70% of animes aren't targetted at kids
NOTE : Anime fans are nerd, computer geeks, freaks, goths, greebos, librarians, writers, artists, film critics, movie directors, homosexuals, hetrosexuals, rpgers, gamers, model fanatics, Jonathan Ross, single mothers, people aged between 2 and 65, both male and female, Kirsten Dunst, people with lives, people who can understand that animation is just another medium and not cartoon porn or just kids toons. So basically anyone can be an anime fan. ^^

I just spent almost an hour writing a huge list then accidently clicked a link and lost everything ¬_¬ I hate it when that happens. Well I'm too lazy to list everything again.

Play.com sell both US and UK animes, they have a small selection of animes but are very cheap. Other places have been recommended already.

-- UK Animes

Over 141 titles, around £14.99 and less.
