I am thinking about buying a ATI 9800 pro to replace my mx440 (mainly so i can play on BF2), but i have no experience in fitting or knowing if my pc can use this.
Is it hard to take the case off the pc, and to fit new gfx cards?
Sorry if this is a dumb question buy i have no experience in doing this sort of thing at all.

With 4xAA a 6600GT isn't exactly coasting and it is a MUCH faster card than a 9600XT. Those benches are on an FX55 system as well.

Upgrading my GFX card though - BF2 has finally realised how bad it is and is hurting it. I got a blue screen for the first time... Ever. So methinks with £180 coming in today I could splash out a bit. Budget: £210.
However, I did buy the 9600XT a year ago for £100, and it's run R:TW, HL2, Doom3 and pretty much everything else, so I'm very pleased. I'll be banking on nVidia now, and not sure whether to upgrade my motherboard, as they seem (check out OCuK for oddness) dirt cheap, and would allow a PCI-E. So £80 for the mobo leaves me £130 for a GFX card.
Thinking X800. Or maybe 6600GT. Dunno.

get an AGP 6800GT in the Leadtek sale on OcUK for £165. It's the best option. The difference between the PCI-E and AGP versions of cards is somewhere between 'very small' and 'none'.
