I am thinking about buying a ATI 9800 pro to replace my mx440 (mainly so i can play on BF2), but i have no experience in fitting or knowing if my pc can use this.
Is it hard to take the case off the pc, and to fit new gfx cards?
Sorry if this is a dumb question buy i have no experience in doing this sort of thing at all.

Thanks!

it's worth plumping for the best card you can afford, save up the extra and get the GT for £102, it'll last a year longer than the 9800 (good as they are)

I've got a 9800 pro, and I'm not particularly pleased with it. The next graphics card I own will be NVIDIA again. After the difficulties I've had with this ATI card, I may never use another one again.

Meh. My 9600XT runs fine, and plays HL2 and BF2 on good settings. (Good being a couple of notches higher than normal...)

Less than full, more than normal.

:D

I dunno. It has everything, usually about 1 off the top setting (ie. 4x AA, not 8x.)

So what is better, 9600 XT or 9800 Pro (i guess 9800)?

You run BF2 with everything on medium/high with dynamic shadows and lighting?
AND 4xAA? On a 9600XT?

I find it hard to believe that you run with anything other than an extremely poor framerate.
