I am thinking about buying a ATI 9800 pro to replace my mx440 (mainly so i can play on BF2), but i have no experience in fitting or knowing if my pc can use this.
Is it hard to take the case off the pc, and to fit new gfx cards?
Sorry if this is a dumb question buy i have no experience in doing this sort of thing at all.

Thanks!

easy... just make sure to uninstall your other graphics cards drivers first, and make sure you have the correct vacant slot (PCI or AGP)

seriously do not worry about fitting it, it comes with details on how to do it, you just need to make sure it is compatable with your computer, which i'm sure it is, I'm sure theres not one person here that hasn't changed the graphics card on their computer

you should have either one yellow slot, or 4-5 white slots they look the same apart from the colour, see which colour the original graphics card is plugged into.
if it's yellow you have AGP

or look in the manual

Don't buy a 9800 Pro!!
For just a little more you could get a Geforce 6800 standard or a 6600GT, and they're both quite a bit faster.

My budget is £85 at most for a brand new card. As i have seen 9800 pro for £80 (including p&p) i thought that would be best. Could i get anything better for anything under £85.

if £85 is your absolute limit then a 9800 Pro would be the best option, but at this point in time it's not really that great an upgrade because it's based on technology that's starting to get old, fast.

Although saying that the difference between that and an MX440 will be monumental.
