Hi, I'm fairly new to the whole MP3 thing, and I have a few questions.

1) I'm running Windows 98, so I assume that the Windows-enabled iPod won't work, yes?

2) What size iPod would you advise me to get (When I do)? I'm only looking for one that can store 700-1000 tracks.

3) Downloading MP3s. What's the best place to download them, and are they legal ie do I have to delete them after a certain amount of time?

4) Does the above apply to an iPod?

Thanks

If 20 songs is an hour, then 100 songs is 5 hours, then you can only play 200 songs in 10 hours. That's only 1/5 of the memory capacity.

I've heard bad things about Kazaa. Something about dodgy viruses and infected files.

Is this true?

You know what's dumb about i-pods? They have the battery time of ten hours, but you can fit so much more than that on one of them.

Can only really help you with #3 but, the answer is Kazaa-lite (www.kazaalite.tk).
No it's not legal, but that doesn't deter anyone, and there are no time restrictions, other than ones you choose for them to have the honour of remaining on your hard drive. They don't blow up your motherboard after two weeks if they haven't been deleted or anything like that anyway :)

If each song is about 5mb, and you want 100, then I'd say the 5gb one would be best for you.

Uh... they are usually not legal. You can get them off Kazaa Lite.
