One person was watching a DVD movie when it suddenly turned itself off for no apparent reason! Also when he was trying to play games he couldn't get past the language select screen. When he tried getting his DVD movie out he couldn't at all and the PS2 would not turn back on at all!
He phoned Sony's technical helpline and he was put on hold for about half hour. He was then told to wait for a new one which would arrive 2 weeks later!
Because he didn't want to wait that long he got his father to take it back to the shop and they said they could get a replacement sooner but he'd still have a long wait to get his DVD back.
Also another person had similar problems but the DVD drive kept opening too fast and games wouldn't run! He tried phoning the Sony helpline and was told he'd have to wait almost 3 weeks! And that was after ringing 10 times and being put on hold for almost an hour each time!
Sony have had to pay £121 million to sort out technical problems since the PS2's release! And still they say "there is nothing wrong with PS2!"
all I can say is:
I TOLD YOU SO!
Sony should have expected it though!
They rushed the console so it could meet certain deadlines in all the countries it's been released in and it didn't have many games on release! Rushing consoles is a very bad thing for any company to do!
