Saw this Friday evening and my laughter muscles are still aching. Rowan Atkinson is standard Rowan Atkinson and it was hilarious in parts. You could hear the whole audience laughing and I haven't been to a film that could do that in a long time.
You knew what was going to happen in parts - you could see it coming, but the build up and execution of each scene was perfect. Anyone who said (including me) that you couldn't make a movie from a 30 second advert is so wrong.
There were parts of the movie I missed while wiping the tears from my eyes.
My chuckleometer gives this 10/10 and I would accuse anyone who doesn't find this funny of leaving their sense of humour buried in the backyard.
> It was crap!
> It was a waste of £6.50 though...
tut - it's in the backyard - go dig it up.
You missed loads of funny bits and one liners which cannot be repeated as they would spoil this for anyone who has yet to see it.
£6.50?? your cinema is ripping you off..
Cinema in the US is really cheap - saw Tomb Raider out there in 2001, and it was the equivalent of about £2!
£3.50, that's more like it...
Sure there were some funny bits in it but 90% of it was absolute crap!
*highlights though*
Sushi Bar
Muscle Relaxant
Speed Camera
Coffin
Car on Trailer
It was a waste of £6.50 though...
Really really enjoyable, Especially Rowan Atkinson - he has this certain "quality" about him that makes him so hilareous to watch. Hes been great in series's like Mr Bean and Thin Blue Line.
Like everyone says - I seriously reccomend people go and watch this soon. Its an excellent example of a modern Slapstick comedy, and some of the gags are brilliant.
**Spoiler**
I really enjoyed the part where he was at that funeral and stamping on the coffin, then acting like a lunatic.
Brilliant, I'll definatly get this on DVD methinks.
The clip makes it look class, hopefully so if the film.
I am hopefully going to see Johnny English very soon, yay!
Mr Bean was crap though :op
