Saw this Friday evening and my laughter muscles are still aching. Rowan Atkinson is standard Rowan Atkinson and it was hilarious in parts. You could hear the whole audience laughing and I haven't been to a film that could do that in a long time.
You knew what was going to happen in parts - you could see it coming, but the build up and execution of each scene was perfect. Anyone who said (including me) that you couldn't make a movie from a 30 second advert is so wrong.
There were parts of the movie I missed while wiping the tears from my eyes.
My chuckleometer gives this 10/10 and I would accuse anyone who doesn't find this funny of leaving their sense of humour buried in the backyard.
Try not to see any trailers or read any reviews and I don't click into any threads here to do with Matrix or X-men as I want to be very uninformed when I see the films.

RIP OFF!!!!!
Aaaaaanyway, Johnny English looks well good. If the rest of the film is anything like the trailer then it's gonna be GREAT!
You're paying for the enormouse seats, these are huge seats, not the fold down ones...
...and...
And the fact that the screens there are absolutely massive!
Big seats, big screens...
Still, I thought the films was quite poor, many of the jokes were predictable and just not funny. I've seen far better films than that.
Maybe it's that I don't find Rowan Atkindossdhojdsh funny, didn't like the 'Bean' movie either...
> It was crap!
How was it crap?
In some ways I think people expect it to be some serious realistic james bond-esque comedy with blockbuster special effects and intriguing storyline.
When really, the film is just pure Slapstick. Gag after gag after gag, No serious believable storyline, Just a gag-driven film, If you look at this film in that perspective you'll understand how good it is.
I havent seen the film yet, but I am guessing that your enjoyment of the film depends on whether you like Rowen Atkinson (and any self respecting person should!)
I heard that in London you can pay up to £8! 8 quid for a FILM?!
Anyway, I posted about Johnny English AGES ago, since I saw a preview of it over a month ago, which was free. It was alright, some of my college mates absolutely hated it though.
and 4.90 at the warner Brothers which has that cool lay out with the big seats and good views
