@Alfonse, take it Moneyball is good then? Is that the Brad Pitt film based around some kind of American sport or am I thinking of something completely different?[/i]

Yeah, it's like The Social Network but with Baseball, solid performances from Pitt and Jonah Hill. Didn't get some of the technical termss but that didn't detract from my enjoyment of the movie

Leanne will be 'chuffed as little mint balls' when she reads this :¬D

Seriously though, chasfh you are right. My father, my father-in-law and myself all had a 'darkroom'! Usually the 'coal shed' or a 'cubby-hole' under the stairs, which when you'd been in there a few hours was like a 'sweat shop' and totally against all today's H&S regulations what with chemicals etc. Nothing quite like black and white developing! But many thanks again :¬)

I did have a quick look at the facebook page, I shall be back to take a better view of it later. I don't tend to do much in the way of photography myself any more, (more digital art/ 3D work on a PC than anything) but I do still appreciate the art of good photography. Sadly, a lot of the more commercial stuff now is quite dull, a little too stiff and mostly produced by people who have been trained "parrot- fashion" if you like. The passion in "professional" work has all but gone.

It's actually good to see that the ART isn't dead yet!

I had a look at this DL, and must say I was pretty impressed. I spent nearly six years as a freelance photographer (back in the days when you needed to get yer hands wet to produce images!), and a lot of what I saw then (as well as more recently) touted as "professional" was way below her standard..

That is so kind of you chasfh to say that, she will be delighted to read your post. I hope you looked at Photography Facebook account as the website is pretty sparse of images at the moment and is also under some type of discussion as to its 'lack of development' by the person concerned :¬)

Thanks DL

Off to see The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo tonight as the Mrs. is mad on the books. I haven't read any of them

I haven't read any of them but I was planning to see it on my birthday because my mom and dad both like the books, but we ended up seeing Sherlock: A Game of Shadows, so I can't give my opinion on it lol.[/i]

Thought The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was alright, it's not amazing but it's not certainly not rubbish. Just a heads up though mate, it might not actually be one to go and see with your parents. Any of the scenes I'm refering to are actually pivotal to the story and to a certain character but they are certainly not very pleasant. Not sure why people I know who had seen it said that people may struggle to follow it without reading the book?, I didn't think it was difficult to follow at all? It drags a bit in places and I doubt that I'll ever watch it again but it's OK. Personally it's one that I would have quite happily waited to rent the DVD/Blu Ray rather than rushing to the cinema to see.

@Alfonse, take it Moneyball is good then? Is that the Brad Pitt film based around some kind of American sport or am I thinking of something completely different?

Just completed Act 1 of MGS 4.

Chris' Log 48960.9. New addition to the console argument; people should get a PS3 just to play Metal Gear Solid 4.
